Step 9. Solder the R1, 2, & 3 resistors in as shown.

Step 10. Solder D1 in and make sure that the band marking on the diode is placed the same way

as the band on the silkscreen of the board.

Step 11. Solder in C1, marked 104, the .1uF capacitor.

Figure 12 = Board after installation of D1 and C1.

Note that the banded end of D1 goes towards the capacitor, C1.

Step 12. Solder in R4, 470 ohm yellow-violet-brown.

Step 13. Now we are ready to install the LED and set the height of it above the board so it will fit

through the hole in the top of the case. Place the LED in the holes on the board, making sure that

you orient the LED so that the flat side matches the flat side on the silkscreen. Next, attach the

board assembly to the top of the case. You will only need to tighten the nuts of the 2 outside

switches, S1 and S5 to hold the board. With a pair of tweezers or needle nose pliers, fit the LED
